8-Days Gorilla, chimpanzee trekking and wildlife tour

Upon your arrival at the airport, your safari guide will be waiting for you with a warm welcome and of course, a briefing about your adventure in Uganda. The next part of your journey will take you to Murchison Falls National Park. This extraordinary park is celebrated for its mighty rapids and vast plains, which provide exceptional opportunities to catch a glimpse of lions, giraffes, hartebeests, buffaloes, and African elephants. Bird enthusiasts will be particularly delighted by the park's impressive array of 450 bird species, including the rarely sighted shoebill stork, the diminutive dwarf kingfisher, the elegant white-thighed hornbill, and the goliath heron. En route to the park, a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking will be an unforgettable experience, since it’s the only place in Uganda where you will see these gentle giants in their Natural habitat. In the heart of this Rhino haven, you will spend 2 hours of unbelievable experience wandering through a diverse mix of habitats and observing its inhabitants including the rhinos themselves. After hours of an unforgettable experience in the rhinos' territory. We shall check out and proceed for lunch at Kabalega Dinners Restaurant. Upon reaching Murchison Falls National Park, your first stop will be at the top of the falls, where you will witness the awe-inspiring power of one of the world's most magnificent waterfalls, before making your way to your delightful lodge.

After breakfast, we will go on a game drive in the northern area of the park, “The land of open plains” where the park unveils its unmatched wildlife and perfect hunting grounds for most of the African hunters. This land is also home to Africa’s "Big Five" (buffalo, lion, elephant, and leopard). Keep an eye out for other wildlife such as Rothschild giraffes, bushbucks, warthogs, waterbucks, and various antelopes. Return to your accommodation for a delicious lunch and a brief rest. In the afternoon, we will head out on a three-hour boat trip to the base of the falls, which is a highlight of any safari here. This cruise offers a close-up view of the aquatic wildlife, including huge hippo pods, crocodiles, and numerous aquatic birds along the north bank as you make your way to the mighty waterfalls. Don't forget your camera, as you will have plenty of opportunities to take pictures. After the boat cruise, you will enjoy a leisurely game drive back to the lodge.

After enjoying our breakfast, we will start our journey early towards the Kibale Forest National Park “The primate capital of the world. As you make your way, you will be treated to stunning views of lush tea and banana plantations, offering an insight into the vibrant local agriculture. Along the route, there will be a stopover at a tea plantation, allowing you to capture some wonderful photos of the picturesque surroundings before heading to your lodge for a well-deserved rest.

You'll get to track the famous chimpanzees of Kibale National Park today. These primates, who share 98% genetic similarity with humans, are found in 21 African countries, with Uganda having the densest population. There are about 1500 chimpanzees in this forest. The trekking takes place along well-maintained trails, offering a chance to encounter these fascinating creatures in their natural habitat. Kibale is also home to a variety of other primates, including red colobus monkeys, red-tailed guenons, and many more. Later return to the lodge for an evening rest. After your chimpanzee adventure, you'll transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Check into your accommodation before heading out for an evening game drive. This is a fantastic opportunity to see diverse wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, and possibly even leopards, as they become more active as the day cools down.

Rise early for a morning game drive to maximize your chances of viewing the park's incredible wildlife. Venture through different habitats, from savannah grasslands to dense thickets, in search of iconic animals like lions and hippos. Afterward, we will return to the lodge for lunch and take a few hours to refresh. In the afternoon, we set out for a boat cruise along the picturesque Kazinga Channel, a popular spot hosting both predator and prey for one purpose: drinking water. Here you'll also have the chance to observe a variety of birds and wildlife, including large concentrations of hippos and elephants that gather along the water’s edge. This relaxing experience offers stunning views and opportunities for photography, making it a highlight of your safari trip. You may need to continue with another game drive

Begin your journey early in the morning as you depart from your current location for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive takes you through the picturesque landscapes of southwestern Uganda, with opportunities to spot wildlife along the way, especially in the Ishasha sector where the famous tree-climbing lions reside. Enjoy the stunning views of lush hills and valleys, making several stops to capture the beauty of the surroundings and take a break for refreshments. As you arrive at Bwindi, check into your lodge and prepare for the next day's adventure.

After an early breakfast, set out for an unforgettable day of gorilla trekking in the dense jungles of Bwindi. Guided by experienced park rangers, you'll trek through the thick vegetation while learning about the ecosystem and wildlife. The trek involves navigating wild, pathless tropical terrain, tangles of vines, and steep valleys. This rugged, raw environment makes reaching the gorillas feel like a true jungle expedition. The highlight of the day is the moment you encounter a family of mountain gorillas in their natural habitat—an experience that will leave you in awe. You will spend one full hour observing these magnificent creatures as they interact and feed. Later in the evening, participate in a cultural visit to the Batwa community, where you'll learn about their traditional way of life, music, and dance, enriching your understanding of this local culture.

After a hearty breakfast, start your journey back to Kampala. Enjoy the scenic drive as you reflect on your experiences in Bwindi. Upon reaching Kampala, you will have some time for last-minute shopping or sightseeing at local markets or landmarks. In the evening, head to the airport to catch your flight to Nairobi, concluding your incredible adventure in Uganda and setting the stage for new experiences in Kenya.
