Description

Embark on an eight-day adventure safari in Uganda, exploring the country's most scenic
routes and popular destinations. This exciting journey is filled with a variety of wildlife
species and includes activities such as gorilla and chimpanzee trekking, game drives, boat
cruises, and nature walks.

Itinerary

Today, your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel after breakfast. Then, you will start
your journey to Kibale National Park. Be prepared to capture Uganda's beautiful and green
countryside in photos along the way.
You will have lunch in the town of Fort Portal, where you can enjoy the stunning scenery.
Despite being a small town, Fort Portal is situated in an area with a perfect climate, resulting
in beautiful surroundings. After lunch, you will proceed to Kibale Forest and check in at your
booked hotel. After some rest, you'll head out for Kibale Crater Lakes exploration, which will
surely amaze you. Later return to the lodge for dinner.
After an early breakfast, you will make your way to the Kibale National Park offices for a
briefing on the rules and requirements for tracking chimpanzees. Following the briefing, an
experienced ranger guide will lead you into the forest to find the primates. Chimpanzee
trekking in Kibale typically takes between 2-5 hours depen. The trek is a bit challenging at
times because the terrain is rugged and the vegetation is thick. However the thrill of
encountering these incredible chimps in the wild makes the efforts well worth it. On a lucky
day, you may even witness these chimps displaying their acrobatic skills as they swing
through the trees.
After the trek, you will return to your hotel for lunch and some rest. Later in the evening, you
will have the opportunity to go for a walk around the Bigodi Swamp to spot other primates
such as Black and white colobus monkeys Grey-cheeked Mangabey and Blue monkeys as
well as several bird species.
After breakfast, you will depart early for Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in time for
your first game drive in the Ishasha sector. This area is renowned for its tree-climbing lions,
along with other impressive mammals, primates, and antelopes. The lions here prefer
lodging in tree branches because it helps them escape insect bites and gives them a clear
view of their territory.
Tree-climbing has evolved in two lion populations in the world: those in the Ishasha sector
and another one in Lake Manyara National Park in Tanzania. However, the best place to see
them is in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. After this first game drive,
you will head back to the lodge to rest.

You will start your day with an early breakfast before heading out for a game drive in the
Kasenyi plains. Your guide will lead you as you observe the wildlife returning to their dens
after a night of hunting. Keep an eye out for lions, leopards, hyenas, buffalos, elephants,
warthogs, and various antelope species.

After the game drive, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, enjoy a
boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a popular meeting place for park animals, especially
during the dry season. You can look forward to spotting diverse bird species such as Pink-
backed pelicans, cormorants, Saddle-billed storks, and African skimmers along with
crocodiles, hippos, and other animals spotted during the morning game drive, as they come
for a drink. Following the boat cruise, you can either rest or take a leisurely walk around the
lodge.

You will start your day with an early morning breakfast at your lodge before being driven to
Maramagambo Forest. This forest is known for its amazing cave bats. While in the dense
forest, keep an eye out for birds, forest hogs, dwarf antelope, and several other primate and
monkey species. The bats attract pythons to their caves. If you are lucky, you may witness a
battle between predator and prey.
After exploring the forest, you will head to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Lunch
will be eaten along the way, allowing you to enjoy the scenic journey to your next destination.
You're expected to check in at the hotel in the evening and rest.
After enjoying an early breakfast, you will be taken to the briefing center to receive
instructions from a ranger guide about gorilla trekking dos and don'ts. After the briefing, you
will venture into the Bwindi Forest for your adventure. The rainforest's stunning beauty is
truly remarkable! The area features a steeply forested landscape that is dense but with
numerous animal trails allowing access for tourists. The duration and terrain of the trek vary
depending on the movements of the gorilla groups. Once you locate a gorilla group, you will
spend an hour observing them as they engage in various activities.
After the trek, you will return to the starting point where your guide will be waiting for you.
From there, you will head to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation. After a long day of trekking, Lake
Bunyonyi offers the perfect natural therapy for your fatigued body.
After breakfast, you will depart for Lake Mburo National Park via Mbarara City. Upon arrival
at the hotel in Lake Mburo, you will have lunch and then spend the afternoon and evening
relaxing. At 6:00 pm, you will embark on a thrilling night game drive in the park. Evening
game drives in this park provide a great opportunity to spot nocturnal creatures such as
snakes, hyenas, owls, and elusive leopards. On a lucky day, you may stumble upon
predators hunting or killing their prey —an exciting moment on a safari. You will also enjoy
the serene beauty of the African wilderness under the stars.
Wake up early, have breakfast, and head out for a nature walk that will allow you to see
animals and other wildlife up close. After the nature walk, you will embark on a drive to
Kampala/Entebbe for your departure flight or final hotel stay. Along the way, the driver will
ensure that you stop at key points of interest, including the equator crossing in Kayabwe,
where you can enjoy lunch and take photographs.
