11-Day Uganda Adventure Safari
Description
This 11-day adventure safari will show you the best of what Uganda has to offer. The trip
features the scenic landscapes of sprawling savanna grasslands, iconic wildlife sightings,
gorilla and chimpanzee tracking, boat safaris, and immersion into Uganda's diverse local
cultures.
Itinerary
Then, on the first day of your safari, you will meet our driver-guide early in the morning and
begin your journey to Murchison Falls. You will stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary en route,
where you will go on a guided rhino tracking with an experienced ranger, giving you the
unique opportunity to see rhinos up close.

In the early morning, the sun is not yet so bright, and the temperatures are cooler. This
makes it the best time to spot wild animals. After an early breakfast, you will go on a game
drive to explore the northern area of the park. You will get a spectacular view of African
animals such as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, different species of antelopes,
and many tropical birds during the game drive. Be sure to keep your eyes open!
In the afternoon you will take a boat safari up the Nile River to the 43-meter-high base of
Murchison Falls. You will be watched by crocodiles, hundreds of hippos, water birds,
monkeys, and all the other thirsty wildlife that the Nile attracts.
After the boat cruise, you will hike (or drive) to the top of the falls. From here you will have a
wonderful view of where the water rapidly drops below with a thunderous sound.

Today you will transfer to Kibale National Park. The long drive is incredibly scenic, passing
through tea plantations and the lush green countryside that characterizes so much of
Uganda. Kibale Forest is in west-central Uganda just east of the Rwenzori Mountains, near
the town of Fort Portal. It features predominantly evergreen rainforest and ranges between
1100 and 1600 meters in elevation. Here you can find the largest chimpanzee population in
the world.

Today you will wake up early and head to the park’s main offices for a briefing about your
chimp tracking experience. Kibale National Park hosts the highest number of primate
species in the world, including chimpanzees. Approximately 5,000 chimpanzees live in the
wild in Uganda, which makes it an ideal destination to track them.
An experienced ranger will lead you in chimp tracking. You might also see other monkey
species that live in the forest. Once you locate the chimpanzees, you will have a full hour to
observe them and take as many pictures as possible. In the afternoon, you will go on a
thrilling 4.5-hour-long walk around Bigodi Swamp, where you will have a chance to spot rare
bird species such as the yellow-billed barbet, papyrus gonolek, great blue turaco and other
swamp endemics
After a relaxing breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and proceed to the Kasese District
where Queen Elizabeth National Park is located. The journey takes about 2-3 hours, so you
will be at the lodge by lunch time. After you have freshened up in the afternoon, you will
head out on a boat trip along the Kazinga Channel. This two-hour boat ride gives you a
chance to view most of the aquatic wildlife, including crocodiles, water birds, and hippos.
Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge

will be at the lodge by lunch time. After you have freshened up in the afternoon, you will

a long game drive in time to see the first rays of light peak over the horizon. You will search
for all the wildlife in the park. We’re likely to come across elephants, buffaloes, lions,
waterbucks, leopards, Uganda kob, and many warthogs.
A well-deserved brunch will be served back at the lodge in the late morning. Later we’ll set
out for the Ishasha sector, which is the home of the tree-climbing lions.

their territory. If you are lucky, you might spot a few during your game drive.
Lunch will be at the lodge. After lunch, you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest,
which is home to mountain gorillas. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

located, your group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Coming face-to-face

you’ll transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, which is one of the most beautiful lakes in Uganda and a
perfect place for relaxation, nature walks, and canoeing.

an abundance of other wildlife – not to mention the lake itself, which has plenty of hippos
and crocodiles. Giraffes and buffaloes can also be seen here.
After lunch, you will head to the lake for a thrilling boat ride. The drive back to your hotel will
take you through an open savannah dotted with acacia trees, which is a perfect habitat for
wildlife.

mammals. This morning game drive will also allow you to spot nocturnal hyenas, leopards,
and jackals.
In the afternoon you will be driven to the park's gate, where you will be picked up by a ranger
for a guided nature walk. This will allow you to watch animals at a close range. Later you will
return to the lodge.
